Don’t take Qurbaani for granted!
Comment from a brother in Australia:
“We sometimes take qurbani for granted in South Africa since it is so easy.
Least we realize how lucky are we.
Here in Australia firstly as a normal person you cannot buy a live sheep, secondly you need a special permit to transport them, thirdly you can never slaughter in a residential area.
If you get caught theres a fine of $1000.
Since I came here my heart ached that we cannot slaughter.
There was no atmosphere at all. 90% of the people never saw a qurbani animal ever.
Alhamdulillah Allah afforded me a huge farm this year. So after alot of paperwork finally we will be the first to slaughter 7 sheep inshallah.
A mobile abbatoir has to come to the farm to oversee we cut humanely and they freeze it and cut it and give it to us next day. Its very costly.
So next time you feel you paying a bit too much for your sheep think of my story and make shukr you have it so easy!”
Rasulullah sallAllahu alaihi wasallam has said :
“On the 10th of Zul-Hijjah, there is no better act in the sight of Allah than shedding the blood (of sacrificial animals).
And verily sacrifice earns the pleasure of Allah even before the drop of blood (of the slaughtered animal) falls on the ground. Hence you should offer it in good spirit (sincerely).
For every hair of the sacrificial animal, there is a blessing.”
