Al-Haadi Article on Ml Yunus Patel (Rah)

Hadhrat Moulana Yunus Patel Saheb (Rahmatullahi Alayh)

Indeed the tragic news of the demise of Hazrat Moulana Yunus Patel Saheb (rahmatullahi `alaih) has not only affected the Muslims of South Africa, but Muslims around the globe. Perhaps the scenario cannot be explained more aptly than the following poem:

The demise of Qais is not the demise of only an individual; rather it is the collapse of the foundation of an entire nation.

The best means of solace for us at this moment in time can be none other than the incident of the demise of Rasulullah (sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam), which was the greatest tragedy that had ever afflicted the Muslim Ummat. In fact, this was the advice that Rasulullah (sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam) had shared with the Ummat during his final illness: “O people! Whoever is afflicted with a difficulty after me, should take consolation from the loss which he has suffered because of my demise, for indeed none of my Ummatis will suffer a greater loss after me than my loss.” (Majma`uz Zawaaid, vol. 8, pg. 614)

Together with this we should excessively recite the following two Du`aas which have been recommended in the Hadeeth:

O Allah! Do not deprive us of his reward, and do not put us into trials after him (Majma`uz Zawaaid, vol. 3, pg. 77)

O Allah! Reward me in my difficulty and grant me a better substitute (Saheeh Muslim #2126)

Lastly, we should constantly keep in mind the great words of Hazratjee Moulana Maseehullah (rahmatullahi `alaih): “Shaikh kab tak rahega, haa ta`leemaat rahegi” (How long will the Shaikh live with us? Yes, his teachings will remain forever.)

Let every one of us make this resolve of implementing every teaching of Hazrat (rahmatullahi `alaih), thereby bringing real happiness and joy to his Mubaarak Rooh.

May Allah Ta`ala enable us to follow in his blessed footsteps and bless us with that type of a Mubaarak death, Aameen.
