Sheikhul Hadith Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya Sahib رحمه الله writes in Virtues of Salaat Alan Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم that we read the following incident in Nazhatul Majaalis: “A man went to visit a seriously ill person at the time when death was very near. He asked the sick man, ‘How do you find the bitter pangs of death at this moment of departure?’ He answered, ‘I do not feel any discomfort and am not even aware of anything. I have heard the Ulama say that whoever recites much Salaat Alan Nabi will find himself safe from the discomfort of death at the moment of passing away.'”
يارب صل وسلم دائما ابدا

على حبيبك خير الخلق كلهم

‘O Sustainer, shower Salaat and Salaam forever and ever upon Your Beloved, who is the best of all creation.’

No doubt the concern of death impacts upon each and every one of us. The apprehension is overwhelming but, may Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله bless Hazrat Sheikhul Hadith Sahib رحمه الله, he has provided an easy prescription for a death without discomfort. Congeniality (munāsabat) with Durood Shareef is imperative as an aid for us throughout our lives. May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله grant us the tawfeeq to be excessive in Durood Shareef as part of our daily devotional practices.
