Passing away on the Day of Jumuah

Question and Answer:

Q. A member of my family passed away on the day of jumuah after asr salaah. However the Janaazah was performed after magrib….will she still receive the benefits of passing away on the day of jumuah? What are the benefits of passing away on this mubarak day?

A. Yes, the person will still receive the benefits of passing away on a Friday for the person’s soul had departed on the day of Jumu’ah.

It is recorded in the Hadith that the person who passes away on the day of Jumu’ah or it’s eve is saved from the punishment of the grave.(Tirmizi, Musnad Ahmed)
