Beauty Of The Beard…

Beauty Of The Beard…

I came to eat dinner in the halls of residence at college one day,
when two sisters started laughing at me,
I had some food stuck in my beard. They went on to innocently mock my beard saying it was messy, un-natural & unhygienic.
Little did they know the rage that i felt as a result of this, & i channelled this rage by unleashing my anger through my pen & out came this poem.

“Glorified be he who beautifies women with long locks of hair, & men with long beards, There is beauty in the beard.

When the lion roars, all the animals submit, for the lion is the king of
the jungle.
The Lion with its glorious mane.
A muslim man grows his mane in imitation of the Noble Master (s.a.w), showing the rest of humanity the glorious sunnah.
Can one imagine a lion without its mane?
Then how can you imagine a man witout his beard?

Woe to worldly women who mock the beards, desiring husbands with clean shaven faces.
Woe to women who mock the Prophets sunnah in the name of hygiene & smooth texture.
Indeed the women of this world cannot like the beard,
But she who wants Jannah ADORES the beard.

A beard is a gift given to man, something only he can grow.
When he ponders, he gently strokes it,
When he eats, it sometimes slips into his beard,

When he is with kids, they play with it,
When he is with his wife, she fondles it,
When the enemy sees it, fear strike in their hearts.
Ah there is indeed beauty in the beard.

All the Prophets had beards,
All their companions had beards,
All the sages had beards,
All the pious had beards,
All the wise have beards,
All muslims have beards?
IF ONLY, IF ONLY.

Who didn’t have beards?
The Non-Believers,
Who grew moustaches?
The Non-Believers.
The Prophet (s.a.w) ordered us to
lengthen the beard & trim the moustache.
Ah indeed is there beauty in the beard.”

May Allah give tawfeeq to the men of His Ummah to grow beards & their women to encourage them to follow the sunnah of Allah’s most Beloved.
